There is a pale grey patch under the\nhead, the only part of the bird that is not near-black.\n\nThe sky is graded from a deeper blue at the top to a paler one at the bottom,\nbanded rather than smooth, and the bands are visible if you look for them.\n\nWhat I was trying: to get one joint in the right place. The proportion is the\nwhole picture, and it holds up at this size - the corner sits close in and the\nlong part is unmistakably the hand. What I am less sure of is the pale patch.
